Horse Photography at Findhorn Beach, Moray

Your most frequently asked questions answered!

Q: How long does a typical photoshoot session last?
A: A typical photoshoot session usually lasts anywhere between 1 to 2 hours. However, the duration may vary depending on the number of animals involved, their cooperation, and the specific package chosen.
Q: Does my dog need to be well trained for the photoshoot?
A: While basic obedience training is recommended, it is not mandatory. I am very skilled in capturing natural moments and can work with both trained and untrained dogs. However, it's important to inform me in advance about any specific behaviours I should be aware of.
Q: What should I bring to the photoshoot for my horse/dog?
A: It is best to bring anything that would make your horse or dog comfortable, such as their favorite treats, toys, grooming brushes, and extra water. Additionally, having a few wardrobe options for your pet, like bandanas or cute accessories, can add a fun touch to the photoshoot.
Q: Do I have to let my horse loose for the action photos?
A: No, don’t panic! Most of my action shots are done using a long line which is edited out in photoshop.
Q: Can I be in the photos with my horse/dog?
A: Of course! I encourage owners to be part of the photoshoot and capture the special bond between them and their animals. I will guide you on poses and settings that will bring out the best in both you and your beloved companion.
Q: What if my horse/dog is camera-shy or nervous in new environments?
A: I understand that some animals may feel apprehensive in new settings or in front of the camera. I am experienced in handling various temperaments and will work patiently to create a comfortable and stress-free environment for your horse or dog. I recommend arriving a little earlier to allow your pet to familiarise themselves with the surroundings.
Q: How long after the photoshoot can I expect to receive the final photos?
A: I strive to provide a quick turnaround time for my clients. You can expect to receive a digital proofing gallery within 2 weeks of the photoshoot. Once you've made your selections, the final edited photos will be delivered to you within 4 weeks. I am now also trialling a same day viewing.
Q: What if I need to reschedule or cancel my photoshoot appointment?
A: I understand that unexpected circumstances can arise, and I am flexible in accommodating rescheduling requests. I kindly ask that you notify me at least 48 hours before the scheduled appointment to allow me to make necessary adjustments. Please refer to my cancellation policy for further details.
Q: Can I order prints or custom products featuring the photos?
A: Absolutely! I offer a wide range of print options and customised products, including wall art, albums, and personalised gifts. I will provide you with a list of products and assist you in choosing the best way to showcase your beautiful horse or dog photographs in your home.
